Our vision
The mechanistic understanding of how and why psychoactive compounds alter subjective experience remains one of the most challenging and elusive areas of neuroscience and pharmacology. Their diverse legal status across jurisdictions, historical stigma, and inherently multidisciplinary nature have left relevant information, about their chemistry, pharmacology, therapeutic potential, and toxicity, fragmented across peer-reviewed literature, regulatory documents, and specialized databases.
This fragmentation makes it difficult to develop a comprehensive understanding, even for experienced researchers.

Behind the project
PsycheDB was created by Joey Reverey, a medicinal chemistry PhD candidate with a background in organic synthesis, chemical biology, and computational drug discovery. A recurring challenge throughout the field is the fragmented nature of information about chemical compounds and their biological effects, which is often scattered across many different sources, making it difficult to grasp the bigger picture.
PsycheDB was developed to bridge these gaps by connecting diverse scientific data into a single, accessible platform in the field of psychoactive compounds.
